About the foundation
In 2003 Adelheid met theatre producer Elly Ludenhoff in the De Balie cultural centre in Amsterdam. At the time Adelheid was in the research and writing phase for her play Gesluierde Monologen (Veiled Monologues) and had organised a conference in De Balie about the process for International Women’s Day. Nazmiye Oral and Myriam Sahraoui had important roles in this process and also took part in the conference. The conference venue was bursting with energy, exchanges and encounters, and Adelheid, Elly, Nazmiye and Myriam decided that this harvest of stories shouldn’t go to waste.

This was the beginning of Zina theatre company, a collaboration between four women wanting to get to know a lot more about one another.
