JOKE BEECKMANS - 3 stars - "The confrontation is violent. From the beginning public and actors are stirred to tears. At the same time, there is discomfort. [...] In the background musicians play and sing, among them Meral Polat and her father, live melancholy Turkish songs. It turns this private coversation into interesting theater."

KARIN VERAART - 4 stars - "The daughter, determined to fight her autonomy while she refuses to give up her place in the (traditional) community of her mother. The mother equally determined not to be thrown off balance by the verbal force of the child. It is 'putting yourself to intimacy', uncomfortable, loving, hard, valuable. You wonder ervery now and then if it is a performance. Yes, it kind of is, also. It is a play, a brave play of contemplation and very beautiful."

"All thorny issues pass by: honor killing, abortion, homosexuality and forced marriages. The people of the photos tell about themselves, singing and sazmuziek support the stories. And in between, there is always the voice of Oral who asks, she lays her mother, but also herself upon the rack. To stay sidelines during this rare incisive performance is impossible. What Oral does, crawls inevitably under your skin."

SANDER JANSSENS - 3 stars - "The physical battle when Havva wants to prevent her daughter to expose herself naked infront of the audience is not without reason so touching : the emotion wins from the ratio for a moment.  Eventually the performance comes nicely together as Nazmiye introduces her mother to her community: the theater audience - which mainly seems to (want to) recognize the spirited character of Nazmiye, but maybe somewhere just as judgmental as the Muslim community where Nazmiye escaped from."

MAX ARIAN - 4 stars - "Which makes this project so unique is that it does not get caught in the contradictions. Reconciliation is not so much sought, but contact, discussion, conversation, a fight, if necessary, for "I will not do what you say. I will follow my own path and while doing, I will not let me cast out. I wíll be different, but No Longer Without You." Not anymore:. There is a lot to precede if you can say so. What a wonderful project of Nazmiye Oral and Adelheid Roosen - strong women. Therefore the more admiration for the courage and love of mother Oral to participate in this performance, where she remains standing regally with her honest common sense, conservative humor and universal wisdom."

" 'I (Nazmiye Oral) do not want her (her mother) to die before she knows who I really am and I know who she really is. This conversation takes place in the theater, in three performances. We're on the stage, with our own truth. "[...] Because of the photoshoot some family members were reunited for the first time in years. Oral: "There flowed a lot of tears. You see the pain, also of the parents. They say now: I wish I had listened to my children. If only I did not let the community make me scared. They have cut into their own flesh, they see now.

"The scooter ride ends in a parking garage, from the Bijlmer-Stone Age, here it is a monument. We watch a short film with participants from other routes, a swiftly edited story by Adelheid Roosen about the phenomenon of time. The Safari is time traveling after all, through a landscape what was guilty and stiff not so long ago, sighed under Dantes curse: "Who enters here, relinquished all hope." [...] Four hours later. I'm torn! And I want again tomorrow."

COLETTE BOEGMAN - 4 stars - "The Bijlmer safari, by bus, the subway, on the back of the scooter and by foot, is full of surprises and forces you to think. Because of the stories of the residents and the lyrics of the musicians on the street. In an original wayyou make a trip through the neighborhood and yourself. [...] Once again, getting locals and outsiders closer together is extremely well done. There, on the square visitors and admirers look each other in the eyes and for a moment they are all equally one.”

PATRICK VAN DEN HANENBERG - 4 stars - "A prejudice pops up in my head when a car drives over the pavement with howling wheels and stops right in front of the pedestrians. Then the Zambian-Dutch singer Naomi van der Linden gets out of the car, gives the audiance a drink while singing a blissful gospel and disappears. The Bijlmer Safari is a four hour party."

SANDER JANSSENS -  4 stars -"[...] honest, transparent scenes which can suddenly be confronting. Because of the intimate setting, in the garden or at the dining room, the personal stories get very close. [...] WijkSafari Bijlmer shows how different people are displaced in completely different ways - and yet try to feel at home. It's all about the value of that search."

"Can theater change the world? [...] In February artist Melih Gencboyaci was a regular visitor at the flight garage, where more than a hundred Eritrean and Somali refugees found a temporary shelter. He was working on a scene with the Somali Nasir (36) . [...] it's certain you will think differently about the "illegal" as soon as you met Nasir and his fellowship. [...] Hopefully you'll shake hands with Nasir during the WijkSafari in the Bijlmer district. Do it especially. Talk to him. You will never be indifferent again about the fate of the illegal. "

Anne-Rose Bantzinger questions Adelheid about her Amsterdam. FAVORITE AMSTERDAMMER "[...] Sherry, a transgender from former Boafra. She and her home are part of the WijkSafari. We will, as in 2012 in Slotermeer, cross on scooters through the Bijlmer." MOST BEAUTIFUL STATUE "District Bijlmer donated in 1986 'Mama Aisa' by Chaim Oren. It stands on an island in Grubbehoeve. 'Mama earth' is, at the foot of these enormous flats, watching over the harmony between various ethnic groups." BEST OF THE WHOLE BIJLMER  "On the rooftof of the Grubbehoeve, with view over the 'Bijlmer Museum', you have the best view of the Bijlmer. The grass and trails on the ground, the tower blocks in the air and the metro on high legs as floating highway. You should be a bird to appreciate the Bijlmer optimal."

In the stories of Beyer [Noraly Beyer] and the Hu's [her adoptive parents] it is all about migration. The process of creation is precious and difficult. Because of language barriers, but also cultural differences. There is a scene about the Chinese language and the more than fifty meanings for "mao". [..] Noraly Beyer enjoys to the fullest: "The WijkSafari lifts you out of reality, but at he same time it plunges you right in de middle of it. Th eSafari becomes life itself. It teaches you not instantly give your opinion. Like Chinese would be closed. How they opened their doors and hearts for us, I honestly do not know if I could do that myself. I feel humbly. "

" She is able to recognize herself in anyone, she says. Her hands are on my knee. "Your façade, your shell is different, but I recognize the inside. The mechanics inside is the same for everyone. "She leans back in her chair. "An adoption, such intense encounter can be very confronting. "You are, she says, sometimes surprised by your own prejudices, opinions, feelings and memories. She thinks for a moment on the question wich adoption address was for her the most confronting. "That was in a women's shelter home in Groningen. I lived for weeks with a lot of women and their children on the same corridor. We shared the bathroom, the kitchen, the laundry room. No problem. But all these rules. At this time you had to be indoors, at that time obliged to sit down and eat, or everyone silent. I could not stand it."

Adelheid|Female Economy and Zina, Roosen theater companies, received Safari requests from Cyprus, Madrid, South Africa and Brussels. "In Cyprus, the Greek-Turkish division of the island will emerge as a subject," says assistant director Lauren Rissik. "Brussels wishes to cross the Flemish-Walloon border; beacause of the adoption method we can deal with different topics. Of fundamental importance is that the project is led by a local director who embodies the project!"   Mexico's answer to Adelheid Roosen is Daniel Giménez Cacho. The socially conscious director heard about the WijkSafari at the Dutch embassy. "This was the formula I was looking for. Tepito is a fabric of people which together form the Mexican identity. They have their own culture which they are proud of and want to show this to the world. "
